Welcome to DexaDiet Sustainability Initiative

OUR STORY

Our founder is a UK- and Nigerian-registered dietitian, and it was her experience working on the ground in Nigeria that planted the seed for DSI.

As an intern dietitian at the largest teaching hospital, she saw something that stayed with her. Patients were presenting too late. Their conditions had already progressed, their outcomes already harder to turn around. But the reasons had little to do with medicine. People didn't know the warning signs. They couldn't afford to seek help sooner. And even when they finally sat across from a dietitian and received nutrition advice, many couldn't act on it; not out of reluctance, but because putting food on the table was already a daily struggle.

It raised a question she could not shakewhat good is clinical advice if the foundations aren't there to support it?

She realised that what these communities truly needed wasn't just better healthcare — it was grassroots support. Accessible information. Practical resources. And someone willing to meet people where they are, before crisis sets in.

So she started small. A nutrition blog in her second year of university. A quiet commitment to putting knowledge into the hands of people who needed it most. And over time, that commitment grew into DexaDiet Sustainability Initiative.

Today, DSI designs and delivers programs across schools, communities, and underserved populations — tackling nutrition inequality at its roots and empowering individuals to manage their health on their own terms.

Because no one should suffer the consequences of information they were never given.
